In times of economic restraint it is growing increasingly imperative that the industry looks towards the fashion trailblazers of tomorrow and this season CSM students flew the flag for forward thinking fashion showcasing an impressively optimistic MA showcase.
With little hint of the impact of the current recession, students offered an eclectically diverse series of collections ranging from surreal and humorous through to monotone and minimalistic. One clear message ran throughout the 17 students' work… innovation prevails.
The overriding theme coming through from this year's cohort of MA students was a renewed lighthearted and humorous approach to design. Lightening the current austere mood, students injected an exuberant use of colour and opted for oversized and exaggerated shapes.
