FARRAH FAWCETT
"Siento mucho comunicarles que Farrah ha pasado a un lugar mejor y ha dejado atrás el dolor que le confinaba a una cama. Ahora es libre de ser la mujer que todos conocimos y amamos".
Este, era el comunicado que se podía leer en su página web poco tiempo después de dejarnos, gran actriz y gran mujer!!
University of Brighton BA 2009
Held off-schedule at the East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf, the University of Brighton's fifth independent London show was dominated by collections that were not doused in the craft and creativity once associated with this institute, but instead were wearable, elegant and instilled a desire to shop.
The winner of the Fashion Catwalk Award, presented by former Brighton student Julien Macdonald OBE, was Rasmus Rohde for his menswear collection 'The Motorcycle Diaries of Albrecht Dürer'. Biker style was referenced most evidently in a slick white leather motorcycle jacket while the subtle use of zip-detailing on trouser pockets created a modern tailoring look well complemented by slim patterned or embroidered shirts.
The unique Shadbolt/LLP Best Business Plan Award, celebrating the importance of business understanding in Brighton's fashion and textiles courses, was presented to Poppy Mayer by another special guest of the night, chair of the British Fashion Council Colleges Council, Anne Tyrrell MBE. Mayer was applauded for the business savvy and consideration of consumer needs demonstrated by her marketing plan.
Hollie Maloney and Natasha Mohide both received the Textiles Award, presented by Avsh Alom Gur and London-based designer of props and accessories, Fred Butler, also a former student.
